Appalachian Community
Grant Program
The Appalachian Community Grant Program (ACGP) is a $500 million ARPA-funded initiative from the Governor’s Office of Appalachia (Ohio Department of Development) offering planning and development grants to Ohio’s 32-county Appalachian region.
As part of the Ross County Downtowns and Destinations award, the City of Chillicothe was awarded $35 million dollars for projects that will support tourism and enhance historic sites like the Yoctangee Park development, which includes renovation of the old armory to house the UNESCO Visitors’ Center and create community meeting space, as well as an adjacent farmer’s market pavilion. In this project profile, we spoke with participants in the Chillicothe farmer's market to see what they are most excited for in their future space.
